Youth Board

The La Habra Depot Theatre maintains a youth board, for children between the ages of 12 &ndash 18. The youth board is responsible for producing, writing, directing and staging one weekend show per year. Members of our youth board learn how to run a theatre, conduct business meetings with Robert´s Rules of Order and have fun in the process. Our youth board raises money to fund two college scholarships each year.

Most of the theatre´s technical functions &ndash running lights, operating sound board, working backstage, operating spotlights, etc. &ndash are handled by our youth boarders. Being a member of the group allows children the ability to be trained in the theatre arts and actually learn employable skills. Many of our alumnae work in the theatre arts for local amusement parks, theatres and even national tours.
